A REAL NYC BUSINESS WITHOUT THE OFFICE.

Mobile and desktop softphones, virtual NYC phone numbers, auto-attendant, plus voicemail-to-email and e-fax as add-ons. Built for solo operators, remote teams, and multi-location businesses who don't need (or want) a phone closet.

Why It Matters

The office is optional. The phone presence isn't.

A growing share of NYC small businesses don't have a traditional office. Solo operators run their business from a laptop and a coffee shop. Remote-first teams have one person in Brooklyn, one in Queens, one in Connecticut. Coworking-space tenants don't have a phone closet to plug a PBX into. Established businesses expanding into NYC want a 212 or 718 number before signing a lease.

None of those setups need a physical phone system. They need a virtual one, phone numbers in the right area codes, calls that ring on the right devices, and a system that handles auto-attendants, voicemail, and faxing without anyone owning a fax machine. That's what virtual phone service is for.

Who It's For

Built for businesses that move first.

Solo Operators

One person, one business line.

Freelancers, consultants, lawyers, agents, contractors. A business number separate from your cell, for tax, privacy, and so clients aren't texting you at 11pm on a personal number.

Remote-First Teams

One system, many locations.

Distributed teams sharing one phone system, one auto-attendant, one set of extensions. Calls route to the right person regardless of which borough or state they're sitting in.

Coworking Tenants

WeWork, Industrious, etc.

Coworking spaces typically don't give you phone wiring or a fax line. Virtual phone service rides over the building Wi-Fi, no equipment install needed.

Multi-State Expansion

NYC presence from anywhere.

Out-of-state company opening NYC sales coverage? Get a 212 or 718 number, point it at your existing team, look local before signing any lease.

What's Included

Everything you'd get with a physical setup, minus the desk phones.

Virtual NYC Numbers

Pick any NYC area code (212, 718, 347, 646, 929) regardless of where you're located. Get a Manhattan number from anywhere in the country.

Mobile Softphone

iOS and Android apps. Your business number rings your cell; outgoing calls show your business caller ID instead of your personal number.

Desktop Softphone

Windows, Mac, and browser-based apps. Make and receive calls from your laptop with a headset. Same login as the mobile app.

Voicemail-to-Email (add-on)

Available as a per-line add-on. Voicemails arrive in your inbox as audio attachments, with optional transcription (audio → text) on top. Listen or skim at your desk, on the train, anywhere.

Auto-Attendant

"Press 1 for sales, 2 for support." Sound like a 50-person company even if it's just you and a part-timer. Multi-level menus, business-hours routing.

E-Fax (add-on)

Available as an add-on. Send faxes from your email; receive incoming faxes as PDF attachments. No fax machine, no fax line, no toner. Useful for medical, legal, insurance.

Ring Groups

Ring multiple team members simultaneously, or in a round-robin order, regardless of where they're sitting. Calls go to whoever's available.

Number Porting

Bring your existing business number into the virtual setup. The number stays; only the underlying service changes. Porting typically 7 business days.

How It Works

From signup to first call.

01

Quick Scope

How many users, what area code you want, current numbers (if porting). 15-30 min phone call to confirm the right plan.

02

Written Quote

Per-user pricing, virtual numbers, e-fax (if needed), porting plan. No surprise fees on the invoice.

03

Provision

We provision your numbers, set up the auto-attendant, configure voicemail and ring groups. Test with you over a screen-share.

04

Install Apps

Each user installs the softphone app on their phone and laptop and logs in once. Calls flow immediately. No hardware shipped.

05

Live + Supported

Adjustments, training, on-call support. Add or remove users any time. The system grows or shrinks with the team.

Virtual Service FAQ

Common questions from NYC business owners.

Can I get a NYC phone number without a NYC office?

Yes. We can provision business phone numbers in any NYC area code (212, 718, 347, 646, 929) regardless of where your team actually sits. If you're a remote-first company that wants a Manhattan presence, an out-of-state business expanding into NYC, or a freelancer who wants a separate business line for tax and privacy reasons, a virtual number gets you a real NYC phone presence without renting an office. The number works exactly like a regular line: rings your cell or softphone, takes voicemail, can be put behind an auto-attendant.

What is a softphone and how do I use it?

A softphone is an app that turns your phone, tablet, or computer into a business phone. You install it once, log in with your business credentials, and your business number rings on that device. You can take calls, transfer them, check voicemail, and dial out from your business caller ID, all without a physical desk phone. We provide iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac apps; same login works across all of them, so a call can ring your laptop and your cell at the same time and you pick up whichever is handy.

How does voicemail transcription work?

Transcription is an optional add-on. When enabled, voicemails are transcribed to text automatically and emailed alongside the audio attachment, you can read the gist in a second instead of listening to a 90-second voicemail, then play the audio if you need the tone or any details the transcript missed. Transcription accuracy is generally good for clear speech but degrades with heavy accents, background noise, or low call quality, treat it as a fast scan, not a court transcript. Both the voicemail-to-email delivery itself and transcription are available as per-line monthly add-ons.

Can I send and receive faxes without a fax machine?

Yes, e-fax (also called cloud fax or online fax) lets you send faxes from your email and receive incoming faxes as PDF attachments in your inbox. No physical fax machine, no dedicated fax line. Useful for industries that still rely on faxing: medical, legal, insurance, financial. Some regulated environments require fax as the document-transfer method of record, so e-fax keeps you compliant without the equipment overhead.

Who is virtual phone service designed for?

Three main customer types: solo operators and freelancers who need a separate business line that isn't their personal cell; remote-first teams that don't have (and don't want) a physical office; growing businesses with employees across multiple locations or states who need to all share one phone system. It's also a strong fit for companies expanding into NYC who want a local presence before signing a lease, and for businesses that occupy a coworking space without a dedicated phone closet.

Does this work with the same phone system you offer to office-based businesses?

Yes, virtual phone service runs on the same cloud PBX as our office-based customers. You get the same auto-attendants, ring groups, voicemail-to-email (add-on), and multi-site features. The only difference is there are no desk phones, everyone is on softphone, and the system lives entirely in the cloud. If you later open a physical office, we add desk phones to the existing setup without changing your phone numbers or starting over.
